Artist Statement
I am an artist-scientist, interpreting the world around me through the process of making and hands-on experimentation. My current interests are centered on the social and cultural components of technology. This includes inquiries into how politics act as drivers of technology and ways in which technology is used as a tool for one population to establish and maintain control over another. I examine ways in which these constructs can be toppled or reversed for the purpose of social change through subversive art, activism and intervention. My explorations into these subjects are usually presented to the viewer with a subtle, dark, tongue-in-cheek humor, with the finished works serving as both a presentation of the results of my research and as documentation of my process of questioning.
