The Free Speech Zone

This sculpture was created during the 2004 Republican National Convention and just after the 2004 Democratic National Convention. The concept was inspired by the Boston convention's "free speech zone" - a geographically isolated steel cage in which demonstrators were allowed to freely exercise their first amendment rights.
